A Concept by Norway Chess

The Total Chess World Championship Tour is developed, owned and operated by Norway Chess, one of the world’s most innovative elite tournaments.

By introducing the Armageddon format and developing the Game Theory Corner, Norway Chess has changed the way chess is played, experienced, and broadcast to the world.

Now, with Total Chess, the next step begins — transforming how the world’s best compete for the most versatile title in chess.

How It Works

The Total Chess World Championship Tour introduces a new era for the game — a global world championship that crowns the most versatile player across all time controls. The innovative structure combines Fast Classical, Rapid, and Blitz in one global tour — with events held across four cities and qualification through both ranking and competition.
