Norway Chess School – A unique chess tournament for elementary and middle school students

When: June 12th-13th, 2020
Where: Stavanger Forum, Norway

Dear children from all over the country:
Welcome to this year’s most beautiful school chess tournament!

During the Altibox Norway Chess tournament in Stavanger, which runs from June 1st-13^th of 2020, we are also hosting the national chess tournament for students at primary and middle school level. This is a unique opportunity to participate in a chess tournament while meeting the world’s best players!
The tournament does not require rankings to participate, which means the students does not need tournament experience from before.

3 students are required per team + one backup player if desired. Students can create teams across schools if wanted.

What can you expect for next year’s tournament
• Free participation
• Open to all students in Norway
• 3 students per team
• Magnus Carlsen and the rest of the stars from Altibox Norway Chess main tournament will visit
• Fun activities outside of the tournament
• TV Vest will do a live broadcast from the tournament venue
• Tickets to the Altibox Norway Chess main tournament
• Winners get to participate in Altibox Norway Chess’s closing dinner with School Chess prize ceremony to best team
