Norway Chess 2025 once again brings the world’s chess elite to Stavanger, and we warmly welcome members of the press to cover this year’s tournament!
This year’s edition features a historic clash: Magnus Carlsen will face Gukesh D, the youngest world champion in chess history. This is just one of several highlights in what promises to be one of the most exciting tournaments of all time.

Photography is permitted during the first 10 minutes of each game inside the playing hall.
All photography must be done silently and without flash.
Filming and photographing players during interviews must take place in front of the designated interview backdrops.
Food and drinks are not allowed.
Mobile phones must be turned off at all times while inside the playing hall.
Dedicated media workstations will be available in the event area.
All images published on Norway Chess platforms – including the website, Flickr, Facebook, and other social media – are protected by copyright.

Accreditation is issued per day, and only to media personnel who have received confirmation from Norway Chess.

Press are also welcome to attend the award ceremony and closing dinner on Saturday, June 7. Registration is required.
