Do you enjoy working with people, being part of live events, and contributing to something truly special?
Norway Chess 2026 is now inviting volunteers, preferably based in Oslo, to help deliver one of the world’s leading chess tournaments, taking place from 25 May to 5 June at Deichman Bjørvika in Oslo.

Each year, Norway Chess and Norway Chess Women bring together the world’s top players, national and international media, partners, and spectators. Behind the scenes, a dedicated volunteer team plays a vital role in creating a smooth, welcoming, and professional event experience — and this is your opportunity to be part of it.
We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and service-minded volunteers for a variety of roles, including security, hospitality and guest services, ticketing and merchandise, and drivers. No prior chess experience is required — what matters most is a positive attitude, good teamwork, and a willingness to contribute.
Volunteering at Norway Chess offers a unique chance to gain hands-on event experience, meet new people, build your network, and experience an international sports event from the inside. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. The programme is primarily aimed at local volunteers, and travel or accommodation is not covered.
