This week, members of the Norway Chess team are in India for a series of meetings and conversations about the future of chess. It has been an inspiring and productive visit, and we are grateful for the warm welcome and positive energy we have experienced so far.

India is one of the world’s most vibrant chess nations, with incredible enthusiasm and a rapidly growing community. Looking ahead, it is not impossible to imagine hosting a Total Chess tournament here one day.

From 2027, the Total Chess World Championship Tour will feature four tournaments each year, with events rotating between different cities around the world.
