Norway Chess Open 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most international chess tournaments in Norway this year, with participants from 31 countries. The event will be held from May 26 to June 1 at IMI Forum, Stavanger, attracting both grandmasters and ambitious chess players seeking title norms and valuable competitive experience.
Leading the list of participants is Rinat Jumbayev (KAZ 2564), followed by strong contenders such as Gergely Kantor (HUN 2558), Valentin Dragnev (AUT 2550), Vitaly Kunin (GER 2542), Norwegian Frode Urkedal (NOR 2536), and Chinese grandmaster Jiner Zhu (CHN 2514).
The tournament features double rounds on Thursday, May 29, and Friday, May 30, providing excellent opportunities for title norms in the top group.
