This November, the Total Chess World Championship Tour — created by Norway Chess — hosts its official pilot in Budapest, and we are looking for volunteers to be part of it.
Volunteer at the Total Chess Pilot in Budapest
The official event runs from 10 to 21 November 2026 at the Anantara New York Palace Hotel, with the world’s top chess players, including World No.1 Magnus Carlsen, competing across Fast Classic, Rapid and Blitz. Volunteers are needed from 9 to 22 November — nearly two weeks at one of Budapest’s most iconic venues.
No chess knowledge is required. Volunteer roles include hospitality and guest services, venue and information services, event operations, ticketing and sales, security and drivers. Shifts are mainly in the afternoons and evenings, and volunteers may rotate between different roles throughout the event.
The programme is primarily designed for volunteers based in Budapest or the surrounding area. You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
