With a background in the arts, communication, and event organisation, she will play an important role in keeping the tournament running smoothly behind the scenes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1735\" data-end=\"1838\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We caught up with her for a quick chat about her role and what she\u2019s most excited about:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Welcome (back!) to Norway Chess, T\u00edmea! You worked with us during last year\u2019s tournament <\/strong><strong>\u2013<\/strong><strong> how does it feel to now be joining the team full-time?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>It feels really great to be back, and even more special to be joining the team full-time. Working on the tournament last year gave me a great insight into both the event and the people behind it, so coming back now feels familiar in the best way, but also very exciting. I\u2019m genuinely happy to be here.<\/em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>For those who don\u2019t know you yet <\/strong><strong>\u2013 can you tell us a little about yourself and your background?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>I\u2019m originally from Transylvania, a Hungarian from Romania, and I started out as an actress before moving into communication, event organisation, and project coordination. I\u2019ve worked with festivals and cultural events, and I enjoy combining creativity with structure<\/em><em>, <\/em><em>\u00a0which is why Norway Chess feels like a great fit.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>You\u2019ve worked in theatre, festivals, and cultural events before moving into coordination and administration. What first got you interested in working behind the scenes with events?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Being on stage made me very aware of how much work happens behind the scenes. Through theatre and festivals, I was often involved in the organisational side as well, and I discovered that I really enjoyed coordinating people, schedules, and details to help everything come together smoothly.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Having already experienced Norway Chess from the inside last year, what stood out to you most about the team and the tournament?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>The people, without a doubt. The team is highly professional but also very open and collaborative, and there\u2019s a real shared passion for the tournament that you can feel throughout the event.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>What are you most excited about learning or experiencing in your new role?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>What excites me most is being part of a period where Norway Chess is taking a significant step forward. The launch of Total Chess is a major development for the organisation, and being involved at a time when something new and large-scale is being built feels both exciting and motivating.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>If you could help deliver a tournament anywhere in the world for the Total Chess Tour, where would you love to go?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Kyoto, Rio de Janeiro or L.A.<\/em><em> would be incredibly exciting.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Outside of work <\/strong><strong>\u2013<\/strong><strong> what do you enjoy doing in your free time?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Outside of work, I enjoy fairly simple things. I love spending time with my family, playing video games, watching films and series, reading, and being in nature. I also enjoy cooking and staying active.
