But the event is about much more than just the competition \u2013 it\u2019s a about learning, teamwork, and the pure joy of playing the game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"1114\"><strong data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"838\">Who can join?<\/strong><br data-start=\"838\" data-end=\"841\" \/>The tournament is open to both primary and lower secondary school students in Rogaland. Each team has four players (plus up to two substitutes). We\u2019re accepting 20 primary school teams and 12 lower secondary school teams \u2013 and spots tend to fill up quickly!<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1116\" data-end=\"1233\"><strong data-start=\"1116\" data-end=\"1135\">When and where:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1135\" data-end=\"1138\" \/>Wednesday, May 28, 9:15am to 2:30pm<br data-start=\"1168\" data-end=\"1171\" \/>Outside the old concert hall in Bjergstedparken, Stavanger<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1470\"><strong data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1254\">What to expect:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1254\" data-end=\"1257\" \/>Teams will play five rounds of rapid chess, followed by finals and placement matches. Games are timed, and team members take turns making moves \u2013 ensuring everyone stays involved and gets a chance to play.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1472\" data-end=\"1503\"><strong data-start=\"1472\" data-end=\"1501\">Exciting prizes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1504\" data-end=\"1824\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1504\" data-end=\"1642\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1506\" data-end=\"1642\">The winning primary school team will earn a trip to Le\u00f3n, Spain in November to take part in a similar tournament.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1643\" data-end=\"1824\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1645\" data-end=\"1824\">The winning lower secondary school team gets a chance to play simultaneous chess against a top player from Norway Chess on Saturday, June 7.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1826\" data-end=\"1941\"><strong data-start=\"1826\" data-end=\"1844\">What to bring:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1844\" data-end=\"1847\" \/>A packed lunch, good energy, and an adult team leader. We\u2019ll take care of the rest!<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1943\" data-end=\"2159\"><strong data-start=\"1943\" data-end=\"1969\">A sustainable initivate:<\/strong><br data-start=\"1969\" data-end=\"1972\" \/>The school chess tournament is part of Norway Chess\u2019s broader commitment to sustainability and education.
