Do you work with middle school students who enjoy playing chess? Or perhaps you’re a parent of one?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Norway Chess is inviting middle schools from all over Rogaland to participate in a fantastic outdoor chess tournament on Friday 31st May. The tournament starts at 9 a.m. and lasts until approximately 3 p.m., taking place outside the old concert hall in Bjergstedparken, Stavanger.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the tournament is sustainability and education. The school tournament will be held outdoors with school teams, using large chess boards made of recycled rubber.<\/p>\n

The tournament is a collaboration with our Spanish sponsor Neusus Upcycling<\/a> \/ RMD<\/a> based in Le\u00f3n, Spain, who have produced the large chess boards and pieces for the event. A team from Le\u00f3n will also come to Stavanger to participate, and the main prize for the local middle school that wins, is a trip to Le\u00f3n to participate in a similar tournament!<\/p>\n

There is room for a total of 24 teams, and it’s first come, first served!<\/p>\n

Would you like to register your school team? The registration deadline is Monday 13th May.<\/strong><\/p>\n
